AMERIND ALL-WEST BASKETBALL CLASSIC/NABI |
"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." - PHIL 4:13 |
Ten boys and ten girls will be selected from the Madness In March Tournament to represent 4 Love of the Game in the AMERIND All-West Classic and Native American Basketball Invitational. Player selection is not only based on athletic abilities, but more importantly, on character, respect, discipline and hard work displayed both on and off the court. The 23rd Annual Native American Youth Weekend featuring the Amerind All-West Native American Basketball Classic is set for March, 28-30, 2008, and is being held at the Gold Crown Field House in Lakewood, Colorado, just west of downtown Denver. Tabbed as the largest NCAA certified all Native American Basketball Tournament, the 6th Annual Native American Basketball Invitational (NABI) will be held July 21 - 16, 2008 in Phoenix Arizona. 85 teams competed for the NABI Championship in 2007. Semi-finals and finals are played on an official NBA and WNBA court, the home of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury, U.S. Airways Center. Last year's girls team were crowned champions in both tournaments, while the boys team garnered a runner-up finish in both tournaments. Another tournament site may be added later this year. Possible sites include Idaho, Washington or Las Vegas. . |
