College Prep Day is 4 Love of the Game's version of a one-day "crash course" in preparing for college. An early factor in a successful college career is making the transition from high school to college. College freshmen have to contend with such tasks as choosing a major, scheduling classes, new roommates and extracurricular activities. Bacone College representatives, along with a group of college professionals and experienced speakers, will help prepare potential college students for the immediate culture shock. The following is a breakdown of Wednesday's activities (all held at the Henryetta Inn & Dome): 11 a.m. - Noon, TEAM REGISTRATION; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., COLLEGES UNDER THE DOME; 1 p.m. - 1:25 p.m., INTRODUCTION: Lucas Taylor, 4 Love of the Game, Kyle Taylor, Director of Native American Student Programs, Bacone College and Ken Heupel, Day of Champions/14 Foundation; 1:30 PM - 4 p.m., BREAKOUT SESSIONS: Five (5) minute breaks between each session is given for restrooms, drinks and if the presenter goes over the allotted time. Teams will have a rotation schedule to guide them to the next session.; 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., SPORTS JEOPARDY CHALLENGE; 5:30 p.m., COACHES MEETING; 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.: PIZZA PARTY; and 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., OPEN RUN. . |
